NEW ORLEANS – The Farm and Table FAMboree, a free-admission, family-friendly festival, will be held at the Ernest N. Morial New Orleans Convention Center on Saturday, September 8. The event will bring the farm to table movement to the community with gardening and cooking demonstrations, an interactive kids zone, wellness arena, live farm animals, music, relaxation lounge, and more.
Attendees will learn about health, wellness, and incorporating a farm-to-table approach in their garden and on the dinner table from organizations like Eat Fit Nola, LSU Ag Center, the Master Gardeners of New Orleans, Instar Farms, and more. They’ll also learn useful tips and techniques to keep healthy year round at the Oschner Wellness Pavilion, enjoy tastings of garden-fresh foods, browse the marketplace, get crafty at DIY workshops, win prizes, and entertain the whole family, all for free. Attendees will also enjoy the musical stylings of Spider Murphy and the Fatback Spiders from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., with Amanda Shaw headlining the event from 5 to 6:15 p.m.
The Farm & Table FAMboree will be held on September 8 at the New Orleans Ernest N. Morial Convention Center. The FAMboree is held in conjunction with Farm & Table NOLA, taking place September 7 – 8, 2018 at the New Orleans Ernest N. Morial Convention Center. Other events include New Orleans’ premiere cooking competition, Chefs Taste Challenge: Battle of the Gulf Edition, taking place on September 7. Eight chefs from the Gulf Coast region will prepare a dinner entrée tasting course. Awards for wining dishes will be selected by attendees and a panel of judges.
Farm and Table NOLA also offers a 1-day, solutions-oriented conference known as the Farm and Table Experience. Consumers, small growers, urban farmers, policymakers, chefs, grocers, academia and hobbyists will convene for peer networking and programming on challenges and trends in the agri-culinary industry.
